I just wanted to give everyone a head’s up about the happenings in the life of Amyopoly! This past week, I found out that I was featured in the October issue of Marie Claire magazine (the beauty issue with Jennifer Garner on the front/back) by the beauty editor, Ying Chu. I am ecstatic about the mention! For those interested, the quote is on page 16b.

I wanted to thank beauty editor Julyne Derrick at About.com for listing my Smoky Eyes video as one of the top seven smoky eye tutorials on the interweb! (It was #5) How sweet! Also thank you to forum user Steph for finding this information for me!!

This weekend I will be posting a video reviewing Stila Cosmetics products. I’m excited about the products I have and excited to share them with my viewers! This video will be going on the newly redesigned Stila cosmetics website launching October 1, so make sure you check that out!

Cloth flowers. They’re HITTING YOU OVER THE HEAD ABOUT THEM for Spring. Feel like you’ve seen this before? Yeah, me too. Instead, go for an elegant but subtle dress with flowers on it, like the one below on the right, by Nary Manivong.

All-time classic. Absolutely gorgeous, and flawless. I love the soft pink and the black together, love the gloves and the hat and the stockings. Love the shoes and the necklace, love it all. Yes yes yes!

I know it’s premature, but my FAVORITE collection so far has been Bill Blass‘. I have compiled the pictures from the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week website for you to see. I don’t see a single flaw. Peter Som got it all exactly right. Such beautiful designs, great fabrics, patterns, shapes, and all of it so trendy. I want every single one of these dresses!

Spring trend with items you may already have in your closet! This piece from Cynthia Steffe is a lot of fun, not too much for the common person to wear, and you might already have the clothes in your closet! The sweater is gorgeous. If you only have a plain sweater, trying pairing it with an extra long beaded necklace for a similar effect.

Bold, funky patterns (especially in dress form) are HOT this Spring. A lot of the trend reminds me of the seventies, retro and with lots of fun lines and shapes. Also take note of the low functional pockets in these dresses. I love it! Below are pieces from Chaiken’s and Cynthia Steffe’s collections.

Keep your eyes peeled for the November issue of SELF Magazine!! They are doing a feature article on YouTube and the phenomena of beauty/makeup tutorials and such and I’m supposed to make a little glossy editorial debut! I’m beyond excited. For those who don’t have SELF Magazine in their countries, I will post a link to the article or scan it in for you to see!
